Project Example: Historic Livery recreation:

Porsche 964 Carrera Cup 1995. FATurbo EXPRESS

The owner of this stunning 964 had owned the car for decades. Although finished in white, he had long considered returning it to its original FATurbo livery and contacted Powell Livery.

Briefing:
The key task was sourcing period images of the original car. Several were found, and the more reference images available — from all angles — the more accurate the recreation. Race number layouts and sponsor logos were also researched; some existed, but most had to be carefully redrawn.

Technical Layouts:
Full-scale vector layouts were created to support the wrapping process. This design relied heavily on pinstripes, plotted from five base colours. Colour selection was guided by experience, photo reference, and available vinyl materials.

Wrapping:
The application process, carried out by Central City Graphics (Ohio, USA), was extremely time-intensive. The team worked closely with our layouts and reference images, building the design through multiple dry runs before final application.

Finished:
The completed car is now actively raced in several historic classes across the USA.
